Freddy Marbic

Freddy Marbic believes that he is made of plastic, and what he believes is his truth, reflective of the era we currently inhabit. Despite being a solid, handcrafted marble sculpture weighing 600 kg, resembling a plastic inflatable chair, Freddy's perception remains fixed. The essence of my artwork lies in the concept that Freddy steadfastly maintains his belief in being made of plastic, despite the reality of his composition being solid white Carrara marble. Even when confronted with this fact, he obstinately denies it. Thus, Freddy is perceived as being made of plastic. This narrative underscores the contemporary tendency to accept opinions as irrefutable truths. Freddy serves as a reminder to maintain a critical perspective on the world around us, highlighting that not everything is as it initially appears.
