BEKI

BEKI

“BEKI”, Be Kind, Hanne Arends 2026

With BEKI, Hanne Arends introduces a sculptural figure that embodies the delicate balance between resilience and tenderness. Standing with quiet presence, BEKI feels both monumental and deeply human,  a character suspended between strength and softness.

Arends continues her exploration of emotional paradoxes by giving BEKI a form that appears open, gentle, and almost childlike, while the material structure reveals weight, solidity, and intention. The sculpture becomes a vessel for the inner world: the part of us that longs to be seen without explanation, and the part that carries its own silent armor.

Despite its scale, BEKI does not impose; it invites. The figure holds space with an understated compassion, suggesting that vulnerability is not a weakness but a form of grounded clarity. In BEKI, Arends offers a sculptural presence that feels like a companion,  steady, attentive, and unafraid of feeling.
