The project Masks emerged from a fascination with identity and the ease with which we can modify it in this era. In both real life and online, we can easily portray ourselves in a manufactured way. We live in a time where one can effortlessly adjust their appearance to what is considered desirable. Artist Hanne Arends wonders whether this 'constructability' should be limited to prevent going too far and ending up in an irreversibly absurd society.
